Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Phlebotomist/ Lab Assistant I is responsible for collecting blood specimens for testing by venipuncture and capillary puncture, and for receiving clinical specimens in the laboratory computer system.

Other duties include answering phone calls, processing send out and pathology specimens, greeting and processing outpatients, and ordering tests in the computer system.

Shift: Variable 8-hour shifts

  • Current Phlebotomy licensure in the State of California (required).

  • One year of experience in a hospital laboratory (preferred).

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (required).

  • Basic computer knowledge (required).
