LOCATION: HAESSLY HARDWOOD LUMBER COMPANY (AN 83-YEAR-OLD FAMILY BUSINESS) IN LOWER NEWPORT, OHIO
COMPANY BACKGROUND: Founded in 1941 by Norman E. Haessly, Sr, Haessly Hardwood Lumber Company started with a team of horses and a small sawmill. In 1954, Norman's son, Jack joined the family business, and in 1976 and 1979, Jack's sons, Mark and Steve also joined the family business. In 1994, Jack, Mark, and Steve focused on modernizing and positioning the business for the future and by 1997, all their objectives were met. Since then, lumber production went up which in turn required additional dry kilns, grading systems, and dry storage buildings. The "HAESSLY USA" logo/brand is recognized in many domestic and export markets where quality and well manufactured lumber is a requirement.
