Washington County Career Center-Adult Technical Center CDL Truck Driver Instructor in Marietta, Ohio
Qualifications: Ability to routinely pass DOT drug screen and physical. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. CDL license required. At least three years CDL driving experience required. Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) CDL Instructor Credential preferred; willingness to obtain ODPS Instructor Credential and ODHE teaching permit if necessary. Proficient computer skills preferred. Effective communication and human relations skills. Ability to manage confidential issues. Must have strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and organization. Capacity to comprehend abstract information and make applied connections. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for creating a positive instructional and learning environment. Must be able to meet the needs of adult learners while maintaining high importance on safety. Instruction includes theory/classroom, range/maneuverability, pre-trip inspection, and over-the-road driving. Utilize and maintain data in the student information system. Collaborate effectively with office staff and administration.
COMPENSATION: Hourly range $27 to $30 per hour, with ODPS Instructor Credential. 8- to 10-hour workdays -- weekday and/or weekend hours. Part-time
