Vanderlande Industries Senior Electrical Project Engineer in Marietta, Georgia

Summary of Duties:Develop code compliant electrical systems that meet the customer specifications and regulations.Perform and review system and component level calculations to size components and equipment for the application (conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, overcurrent and short circuit protection, control panels, control networks, etc.).Conduct peer review designs created by other engineers to ensure compliance to customer specifications and regulations.Optimize system functionality from as sold to a working electrical design.Engineer special projects for non-standard design applications.Apply safety regulations.Specify electrical equipment required for the complete electrical system that operates and controls both Vanderlande manufactured, and third party purchased items.Develop the electrical designs such as wiring diagrams, termination lists, Bill of Materials, etc.Document all engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear installation files, and engineering instructions.Support the installation and commissioning both on site, and from the Marietta, GA office.Conduct project documentation using a rights based database system.

Qualifications: Position requires aBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study and Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or any related occupation in which the experience was gained. Position also requires demonstrated experience with the following:US National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70);Calculating feeder wire size per NFPA 70, feeder voltage drop per NFPA 70, motor starter component sizing, feeder overcurrent and short circuit protection;Designing using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN software;Creating single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, wiring lists and Bill of Material (BOM) lists;OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Occupational Safety and Health Standards;NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79;UL 508A;ISO 13849-1;Designing UL rated control cabinets and low voltage power distribution systems; andProgramming PLCs.

Position requires up to 20% domestic travel to unanticipated client sites.
