What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will focus on identifying, implementing, and sustaining solutions to complex manufacturing challenges. Specific responsibilities include:
• Corrective Action Development: Designing and executing corrective actions to reduce Scrap, Rework, and Repair (SRR) rates, as well as improving Hours Per Unit (HPU).
• Engineering Change Evaluations: Evaluating engineering changes to ensure alignment with production capabilities and operational efficiency.
• Technical Production Support: Providing technical expertise to mechanics and production personnel to maintain seamless product flow and operations.
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Driving initiatives to streamline production, reduce span time, and enhance profitability.
• Root Cause Analysis and Mentorship: Leading teams through complex manufacturing challenges, developing robust root cause and corrective action plans, and mentoring engineers on best practices.
You will partner with cross-functional teams, including:
• Production Operations Leaders
• Quality Engineers
• Industrial Engineers
• Operations Technology Specialists
• Production Control Teams
Your goal will be to eliminate repetitive nonconformance costs, reduce recurring touch labor, and remove barriers to schedule adherence. This is a role requiring both tactical problem-solving and strategic thinking to optimize the production system.

Basic Qualifications:
• STEM bachelor’s degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.)
• Experience resolving engineering, production, tooling &/or assembly issues.
• Experience leading/facilitating teams in a Manufacturing Environment
Desired Skills:
• Manufacturing Engineering Experience or Support Roles (IE, QE, MRB) on F-35 Joint Strike Fighter or similar military fighter jets.
• Problem Solving Skills -Demonstrated ability to drive closure and resolve complex, large-scale technical issues/challenges
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and cross functional teams; Production Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain
• ICA Experience (LM Corrective Action System)
Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)
• Ability to lead/mentor the manufacturing engineering group on Corrective Action Issues.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis tools (8-D, 5 Whys, Cause Mapping, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA, etc)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
