The Arc Oneida-Lewis Chapter Transportation Coordinator in Marcy, New York

General Statement of Duties:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agency's CQL outcomes and Core Values and demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the Arc's Mission.

  • Ensure protection from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and exploitation in regard to the health, safety, comfort, and well-being for the people we support by adhering to all related policies.

  • Assigned to regular daily route as Bus Driver

  • Work with Facilities Director to on all transportation needs, including creation, maintenance and coordination of all routes and schedules.

  • Acts as Liaison with other Drivers and consults daily with Facilities Manager on questions or issues related to Transportation.

  • Functions as the backup to the Maintenance Coordinator when needed

  • Assists the Facilities Manager working with any 3rd party Agency Transportation Providers.

  • With input from the Facilities Director, coordinates all agency vehicle needs including but not limited to maintenance, scheduling, replacement and registrations and inspections.

  • Perform minor maintenance repairs on buses and agency vehicles.

  • Responsible for transporting all buses to inspection sites for DOT inspections.

  • Maintain all bus interiors and exteriors including disinfecting, cleaning and neatness.

  • Train other drivers in preparation for testing for CDL licensure.

  • Assist in maintaining a tracking and filing system for repairs and maintenance of each agency vehicle.

  • Assist in the maintenance and minor repairs of agency properties as needed

  • Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agency's Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies.

  • Maintain and promote confidentiality in accordance with Agency policy.

  • Comply with all aspects of the Agency's Safety Policy.

  • Serve on Agency committees as assigned.

  • Attend meetings as dictated by your job responsibilities and/or as assigned.

  • Attend and complete all mandatory training.

  • Adhere to scheduled hours and submit completed timesheets to supervisor on time each payroll period.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and function as a team member with a wide range of people.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules which may include evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to write legibly

  • Per DMV 19-A regulations - required physical qualifications so as to be able to pass an annual physical

  • Normal visual and hearing acuity

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time

  • Adequate manual dexterity

  • Good safety practices.

    Education and Experience

    Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.

    Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Clean NYS CDL Class B with passenger endorsements license

  • Able to pass Class B driving test

  • Ability to meet all NYS DMV 19 A regulations and pass physical
