Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic

Job Description

Ascent Aviation Services is a Class IV 14 CFR Part 145 certified repair station specializing in every aspect of aircraft maintenance for the service life of your fleet. We maintain narrow and wide body, small to large, regional to long-haul aircraft and one of the largest storage and reclamation operations in the world.

Research technical data and perform disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, assembly, testing, and calibration of aircraft components with company special tools and ground equipment in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures. Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, plumbing, and hydraulic units. Read and interpret manufacturers' and airlines’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Upon removing units from an aircraft, engine, or other major component or subassembly, complete appropriate identification, inspections, routing tags and forms and make appropriate entries into the Component Removal Log. Disassemble and inspect aircraft and engine parts for wear or other defects. Repair or replace defective engine parts and reassemble and install engine in aircraft. Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories. Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft including cleaning, servicing, greasing, moving parts, and checking brakes.

This is a fully on-site position in Marana, Arizona.

Work Environment

Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level. Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 50 pounds unassisted. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Equipment Operated: Aircraft ground servicing equipment including tugs, tractors, hi-lifts, trucks, servicing carts, and test equipment, hand tools, rivet guns, drills.

Work Location: Aircraft maintenance hangar: Exposure to high-intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, working at heights or around moving machinery; aircraft fuel tank entry.

Protective Equipment Required: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, aprons, gloves, safety harnesses.
