Pleasant View Gardens Operations Manager in Maple Plain, Minnesota

This exempt, supervisory position is responsible for ensuring the execution of efficient crew production, job quality, exceptional customer service, and employee safety; performing related work as required. This position also includes inventory management, receiving deliveries, and maintaining our property and greenhouses. Essential Functions: Customer Service Understands the relationship between job quality and customer service, satisfaction, and retention; Maintains contact with clients via email, phone and text to assure their needs are met; Ensures job quality at all job sites meet the PVG standards; Keeps President informed about customer issues as they arise; Solves customer problems quickly and effectively, with adequate follow-up; Provides excellent service (i.e: accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and PVG staff in a courteous and efficient manner; Works with customers directly to ensure needs are met, conducts walk-throughs with customers, and makes recommendations to the customer concerning their gardening needs; Encourages enhancement sales for clients, and works with crew leads to sell enhancements to clients for increased profitability; Communicates recommendations made for customers to the President and/or Sales/Estimating department as needed; Demonstrates horticultural expertise in trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, weeds, and pests and educates that information with staff and clients; Maintains a high level of customer service to maintain the PVG standard of customer satisfaction; Consistently exceeds client expectations; Supervisory Role Leads and manages multiple departments (i.e: Garden Maintenance, Installation, Greenhouse, Shop, and Garden Support); Ensures that all staff adhere to operational, ethical, safety, and administrative policies and procedures; Demonstrates leadership, initiative, and accountability at all times; Delegates assignments correctly, drives staff accountability, and ensures efficient field execution; Leads the team by supervising, managing, training, developing, disciplining, and evaluating employees; Works with management teams to assure all tasks are performed according to contract, estimates, PVG quality standards, and budget terms; Manages crew compositions, scheduling, and material/equipment allocation; Manages dispatch, scheduling, and equipment, vehicle, and tool inspections, as well as loading and unloading; Communicates daily expectations to the Maintenance, Installation, Greenhouse and Shop Supervisor; Works with Crew Leaders to assure all tasks are performed according to contract, quality standards, and budget terms; Oversees yard departure and yard arrival tasks as needed and communicates with the Yard Manger concerning materials needs; Orders materials as needed or communicates with managers and vendors to obtain materials and equipment for timely project completion; Assists Crew Leaders in complying with all PVG procedures; Works with Greenhouse Supervisor to assure appropriate plant materials are arranged and delivered for each client; Works with design staff to assure all client annual plant needs are met with container and bed designs; Provides coaching to employees; Optimizes business performance by assuring staffing levels are appropriate in coordination with Human Resources; Ensures staff development through training in Company methods, safety protocols, and horticultural education; .
