Summary - 1st Shift (6:30AM- 3:00PM) Assures that products, tooling, and processes produced at Pace Industries complies with external and internal requirements and specifications. Works effectively with engineers, inspectors, supervisors, and production associates to resolve quality issues, achieve team objectives, and promote quality principles. Must have manual inspection skills with calipers, micrometers, computer skills, and the ability to learn to use the CMM for inspection to verify production parts. Duties and Responsibilities *Use of common gages and measurement instruments for inspection purposes *Verify product conformance to customer cosmetic requirements *Interpret and work from inspection plans, detailed engineering drawings, external - internal specifications and requirements *Knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance) and the application of AMSE Y14.5M is helpful *Knowledge of CMM operation and inspections is optional *Responsible for daily maintenance of inspection tools and gages *Analyze inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, processing procedures to insure quality of manufacture *Document non-conforming material by utilizing quality tools, manufacturing processes and procedures *Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word and Excel software) *Maintain work areas ensuring strict adherence to 5S standards *Comply with established QMS procedures *Comply with established safety directives Skills and Abilities Required Work is project-oriented, which may result in several projects at any given time. Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask is needed to be successful in this role. Must be able to work independently with proficiency in surface plate tools and techniques and beyond.
