About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior R&D Engineer supporting the Interventional Cardiology Coronary Therapies Mechanical Engineering team. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC's mission. Your responsibilities will include: Own the design development of mechanical components of medical device systems. Create drawings, BOM's, and other design outputs. Collaborate with team members to translate customer needs into product requirements and design specifications. Develop test methods for evaluating product requirements and design specifications. Write and execute protocols/reports for Design Verification. Provide clear communication to stakeholders. Assist Packaging, Labeling, Manufacturing, and Supplier Engineering/Quality teams to commercialize proposed design. Work cooperatively with Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing on complex projects to ensure project success. In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Biomedical Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of experience OR Master's Degree with 3 or more years of experience Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Excellent MS Office suite skills. Experience with medical device or regulated industry design control process and documentation (i.e. Windchill). Experience with SolidWorks, working with suppliers, and/or type testing. Experience with machined, sheet metal and/or injection molded component design for manufacturability and assembly. Experience with rapid prototyping technology to accelerate proof of concepts. Experience with electro-mechanical systems.
