The right candidate must be a problem-solver, have strong communication skills, and also be willing and ready to learn. General Description: We are looking for a diligent Preconstruction Estimator to join our Facades team. You will help prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. You will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must be thorough and skilled in managing relationships with key persons. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with the Facades team and other stakeholders to provide conceptual estimates, detailed estimates, and cost models/options. Gather first-hand information from project documents, site, and other requirements. Understand project requirements and Wells building solutions. Perform risk analysis. Organize, research, and strategically plan for estimate preparation, costing, scheduling, and final submission to the client. Plans layout of project for Wells building solutions and integrates client design for client review and approval. Prepares project model using Bluebeam Revu, Revit, or Sketchup. Obtain, review, and qualify estimates and schedules from trade partners/subcontractors and vendors. Participate in Design Assist meetings and other project review meetings as needed. Use software for data analysis and to record project metrics, estimates, and cost history. Maintains effective communication with project stakeholders. Build relationships with key stakeholders. EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in construction management, or related field preferred. 3 to 5 years of estimating experience Experience in the prefabrication, construction and build community. Proven experience as estimator or similar position. Familiarity with financial and project management principles. In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas. Analytical mindset. Thoroughness and reliability. Collaborative, outgoing and driven personality. Thrives in fast paced, changing environment. Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task. Ability to proactively identify project issues and seek out solutions. Must be organized, motivated, flexible and can prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; interacts effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels and outside vendors Able to exercise appropriate discretion when handling confidential and/or sensitive information.. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Possession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment. Visual acuity and ability to read small print. Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment. Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed.
