POSITION SUMMARY The BSA Officer is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Program. Primary Responsibilities and Duties • Ensures that all areas of the Bank comply with the objectives and requirements of BSA/AML/OFAC/CIP regulations. Reviews the Bank's policy and procedures to keep the Bank fully compliant with the regulations and laws. • Coordinates responses to regulatory BSA-AML examinations, audits and actions taken to ensure deficiencies are corrected. Achieves satisfactory audit and regulatory reviews. • Provides oversight of suspicious activity including the monitoring of internal reports, investigations through research and internal inquiry, and documentation of findings. Responds to internal inquiries and provides information to personnel about possible suspicious activity for completing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). • Ensures timely submission of SAR's for BSA-AML-related activities, including accuracy and conformity to FinCEN guidance. • Validates the accurate and timely filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), including accuracy and conformity to FinCEN instructions and timeliness. • Monitors and tracks BSA-AML high-risk accounts; maintains written procedures for highrisk customer reviews and monitoring, including SAR filings. • Ensures monthly monitoring for business account activity. • Ensures annual review of MSB accounts. • Ensures new product development includes full BSA/AML consideration. • Performs annual BSA/AML/OFAC Risk Assessment. • Responsible for the maintenance of the Bank's Customer Information Program (CIP), including making determinations on documentary evidence of clients' identity. • Understands and reviews the methodology rules, thresholds, risk scoring in the Bank's transaction monitoring system • Oversees functions of the transaction monitoring system to ensure compliance with regulatory/supervisory guidelines, policy, and industry best practices. • Approves investigations of high-risk accounts and cases, determines if a SAR is warranted, and files the SAR when appropriate. • Ensures resolution of possible FinCEN 314(a) OFAC matches. • Provides final approval of possible OFAC "hits" and responsible for contacting OFAC and reporting of blocked/rejected transactions. • Provides reports and presentations to Audit Committee. • Ensures the overall day-to-day BSA/AML operations are completed. • Ensures employees are added/removed from the OFAC system (WatchDog), as necessary. Risk Management: • Maintains competent knowledge of all BSA/AML rules and regulations, including but not limited to, BSA, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC. • Stays abreast of industry trends, changes, and alerts in all BSA/AML regulations and OFAC sanctions. • Leads the process for annual review of the completeness and effectiveness of the BSA/AML program. • Provides essential training for all employees and performs various quality control reviews in an effort to mitigate the Bank's risks regarding money laundering, terrorist financing, elder abuse, etc. • Reports important compliance developments and/or makes recommendations for improvements or changes in policy, procedures and controls with current best practices, emerging trends and issues to mitigate risks. • Ensures appropriate levels of training, monitoring and follow-up of BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures bank wide to appropriately manage/mitigate exposure to risk. • Attends training webinars, seminars or wor
