Senior Java Solution Developer

Solves complex applications systems/programming problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs.

Essential Functions

• Plans, conducts, and coordinates the application of information system techniques to existing and future needs.

• Performs complex systems analysis and programming tasks requiring advanced techniques.

• Provides technical advice and consultation on difficult analysis and programming problems.

• Participates in systems development and maintenance.

• Conducts analysis of complex data processing applications and prepares feasibility studies to evaluate user needs for new or revised systems.

• Coordinates the interfaces between major systems and programs.

• Activities include the conceptualization, development, and implementation of complex program designs.

• Often responsible for achieving operational status within required time parameters and within acceptable operating performance.

• Defines system objectives and prepares systems design specifications to meet user requirements and satisfy interface problems.

• Investigates available hardware and software configurations and capabilities; recommends optimal system to meet applications justification of data processing systems.

• Presents recommendations to management.

• Prepares and conducts comprehensive system and programming tests.

• Debugs malfunctions and modifies programs accordingly.

• May identify and implement root cause fixes to program, system, and/or applications errors.

• Recommends system software modifications or changes to hardware configurations.

Primary Skills

• Strong Java coding skills

• Experience in production systems with Spring framework

• Experience with software testing Junit, Mockito

• Strong SQL skills in MSSQL-Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL

• Experience with identifying and solving of performance bottlenecks

• IntelliJ

• Git (Bitbucket/GitHub/GitLab)

• Deep understanding of Maven

• Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines in modern cloud architectures

• Deeper understanding of HTTP, REST and common authentication protocols like OAuth2 and OIDC

• Deeper understanding of ORM frameworks, especially JPA/Hibernate, jOOQ

• Experience of designing modern microservice APIs

• Experience with containerization by Docker/Kubernetes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related discipline, or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience

• Eight (8) years’ experience in systems analysis/application programming

• As an alternative to the experience requirements listed above, possesses a minimum of three (3) years of related experience in Information Technology with a specific Technology Experience Ratio of 75% or higher (years of experience in the specific technology / years the technology has existed).

• Significant programming and systems knowledge.

• Experience with rating CVEs against existing applications

• Experience with software license management of 3rd party libraries
