Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Budget Director, the Junior Budget Analyst will assist with the financial operations and fiscal reporting of the Health and Wellness Division programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Assist with the completion and submission of Health and Wellness Budgets for all its programs. Monitor the ongoing claims of all Health and Wellness Budgets and submit budget modifications as necessary

  • Create monthly division-wide and site/program-specific expense and revenue reports and communicate data to audiences with diverse levels of understanding of budgets and budget plans

  • Assist Program Directors in managing their budgets using budget management tools

  • Assist Budget Director in their work with funders, regulators, and outcome managers to ensure complete compliance with all budgetary and other contractual and grant requirements

  • Collaborate with the central Fiscal Department to handle claims for grants and contracts, effectively maximizing all funds

  • Create and monitor Staff/OTPS (Other Than Personnel Services) Tracking spreadsheets and approve and revise changes as needed through salary reallocations and journal entries

  • Effectively track, document and record all program/grant expenditures in appropriate cost centers.

  • Review funds management and reconciliation of cost centers, ensuring appropriate spend-down of all public and private grants/contracts in a timely manner

  • Request new cost centers and add new cost centers to Pcard list, Workplace, etc.

  • Process workplace payments, reconcile petty cash and MetroCard

  • Review salary allocations and keep track of changes against budget

  • Complies with all privacy laws, including HIPAA, etc.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned

* Minimum Qualifications:*

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferred, or related field required

  • At least 1-2 years budget management experience, experience with budget planning in not-for profit organizations with multiple funding sources a plus

  • Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at a time

  • Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel)

  • Ability to package complex financial information so that it is useful to diverse audiences.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong project management, organization and prioritization skills

  • Have ability to handle sensitive information with detail and discretion
