Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
What you will do in this role:
Manages departmental personnel through direction provided by the director;assistsstaff to achieve their full potential as members of an effective team through innovative management practices
Ensures that staff have proper orientation and documented competencies to provide a competent level of nursing care for all patients
Assistsin hiring qualified personnel according to Parkland’s mission,visionand values; unit goals, scope of services and fiscal resources; based on the individual’s’ qualification,skilland experience
Manages all direct and indirect nursing care given to patients within the department to ensureoptimalpatient care
Responsible for the identification, interpretation,implementationand evaluation of the unit’s standards of nursing care
Demonstrates management skills including the ability to plan and organize staffing and direct and control daily activities in the department
Proactivelyassistsphysicians and healthcare providers as needed
Identifiesand responds to patient dissatisfactionregardingtheir experience; develops a plan of action or quality control program for any identified trends;assiststhe director in the continual assessment and improvement of the department’s performance and abilities
Facilitates effective communication by meeting regularly with employees to report news and respond to questions; serves as a resource for staff to clarify andfacilitatepolicies and procedures
Consistently keeps director informed of current andpotentialproblemswithinthe department
Promotes and monitors department safety; compiles statistical information as directed, ensures the departmentmaintainsrequired safety and regulatory documentation
Contributes to low incidence of patient,employeeand visitor injury;identifiestrends and plans a course of action to be initiated
What qualifications you will need:
Education:
Graduatefrom an approved school of nursing.
Experience:
A minimum of two or more years of professional nursing experience, preferably in a medical/surgical environment.
Medical office experience preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current registration in the State ofNHas a RegisteredNurse.
Certified in specialty area preferred.
BLS certified.If not BLS, certified must have the ability to obtain BLS certification during orientation period and maintain during employment.
Successfullycomplete Department of Transportation Hazardous (DOT) Materials training within 90 days of start date. Recertification must be completed every three (3) years.
