The Job:

As a Human Resource Manager, you’ll be part of our Industrial team working as an on-site employee at our Manchester, CT manufacturing facility supporting the Manchester and Columbia sites. The HR Manager position is a key member of the leadership team, with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in HR disciplines. Primarily supports the day-to-day HR activities through active leadership and communication, leads human resources projects, advises on HR policies and procedures, and addresses moderately complex HR inquiries. You’ll get to:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with leadership to implement HR programs focused on accomplishing targeted HR objectives. Consults with key leaders and stakeholders to obtain their input on the organization's HR needs.

  • Handles and oversee employee relations issues and investigations

  • Coaches supervisors and manages on how to effectively address internal employee relations issues.

  • Provides direction for 1 HR support in areas related to HR plan and policy management.

  • Leads projects and assignments related to major HR tasks involving multiple.

  • Interprets and advises on human resources policies and procedures to ensure that employment laws, standards, or regulations to are followed and applied accordingly.

  • Addresses basic to moderately complex HR-related inquiries from all levels of employees in all areas of the organization.

  • Collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence to include recruiting, talent management, compensation and Labor & Employee Relations to strategize of various initiatives.

  • Organizes and maintains compliance policies in preparation for investigations.

  • Coordinates weekly non-exempt payroll, managing timecards in kronos and preparing/reviewing payroll files. Coordinates exempt monthly payroll file.

  • Manages workers compensation cases, handles filing, case management, assists in incident investigations and all other items related.

  • Assists in multiple areas of safety through coordinating training, participating in meetings/committees, corrective actions, etc.

  • May perform other duties as assigned or within scope.

The Person:

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate Human Resources discipline (or other) and 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience influencing at all levels and developing an internal network to gain support for HR initiatives

  • Demonstrated strategic orientation, business acumen, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and team building experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, problem solving and conflict resolution experience.

  • Experience with navigating cultural and business sensitivities to champion diversity and inclusion, performance, and employee engagement

  • Must have personal integrity, exceptional communications skills, and the ability to build strong relationships.

  • Prior Human Resources Management experience is required

  • Kronos and Workday experience is preferred

  • Manufacturing experience required, preferred in Aerospace but not required
