This position will be based at the San Lorenzo facility for approximately 4 months following the start date. Subsequently, the position will be based at the Manatí facility. Ethicon is expanding its manufacturing operations to Manatí, Puerto Rico. Resources hired will work in San Lorenzo temporarily until the Manatí Manufacturing Facility is operational.

The position’s major responsibilities are counting, reconciling and reporting results of the cycle counting process for all raw material codes within Ethicon assigned location. The cycle counter conducts additional duties related to obsolete inventory, revision of negative inventory and unplanned issue transactions for training and validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily counts as required by the process. All these counts will be done in the host system according to procedure.

  • Identify the causes of discrepancies between the records and actual counts on a weekly basis.

  • Prepare monthly reports on inventory accuracy results to the Materials Management Department.

  • Ensure that inventory lot control process/practices and GMPs are being followed. The cycle counters will provide the necessary assistance and support to the areas where the counts are performed.

  • By executing the appropriate report weekly and clear all negative balances within the system. These amounts will be reported monthly.

  • Assure all raw materials with an obsolete status are removed from the kit room and warehouse locations, physically and in the system. The movement of these raw materials will be done following the established inventory disposition procedures all obsolete inventories are cleared.

  • Recount all manufacturing books that could not be assembled for production. Inform the materials technician of the status and record the discrepancies found.

  • Enter daily counts in the system inventory adjustment (3.14 MFG/PRO) all variances return which were not able to enter through Workorder Component Used (16.19 MFG/PRO), because the Workorder was already closed.

  • Enter daily in MFG/PRO all transactions related to requisitions for validation, qualifications and training material.

  • Serve as a backup to the manufacturing associates responsible for floor stock when requested. Serve as backup to the material technician when customer service is being affected in the Materials Department.

  • Participation in annual physical inventories is required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree is required.

  • Two to four (2 to 4) years of related work experience within the manufacturing control environment is preferred.

  • Basic computer skills and use of software application(s) is required.

  • Verbal and written communication skills in English & Spanish is required.

  • Thorough understanding of all transactions related to inventory in MRPII is required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills is required.

  • Analytical and mathematical skills is required

  • Ability to use a calculator is required.

  • Understanding of the concepts and best practices of inventory management as well as a continuous improvement mentality and customer service focus is preferred.

  • Ability to lift an approximate weight of 0-15 lbs from the ground is required.

  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays is required.

  • This role is classified as Safety Sensitive due to the risk exposure associated with mechanical intervention work. To the extent permitted by applicable law, periodic, unannounced urine drug testing may be required up to three times a year as a condition for employees in positions identified as “safety sensitive” to continue working.

  • Position will initially be based in San Lorenzo until the Manatí Facility is operational and, as a result, the incumbent is transferred. During the period that the incumbent reports to the San Lorenzo facility, this facility will be considered the employee’s work center. Once transferred to the Manatí facility, the incumbent’s work center will be changed to the Manatí site.

  • Availability to travel up to 10% is required.
