Position Overview
Electra.aero, a next-gen aerospace technology company, seeks a dynamic Senior Product Engineer. This role will support Electra’s advanced programs development work, notably the NASA AACES project, as well as help define Electra’s nine-passenger Ultra Short aircraft product. You will be responsible for analyzing the operational aspects of the product, and your work will be key to the overall business success of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, market modeling, customer interfacing, and aviation products within a fast-paced, innovative environment. As an early-stage startup company, this position requires a versatile person who is not afraid to work hard, move fast, and jump in to fill any need that arises across the company. As the company will evolve and grow with time, so will this job. This position is in Manassas, VA. Other locations will be considered for exceptional candidates.
The Big Picture:
Alignment: This role will support Electra’s product strategy team in developing the product pipeline for the company, looking for ways to ensure our product requirements and roadmaps are aligned with Electra’s mission and purpose.
Continuous Improvement: This role will support tasks across engineering, business development, and customer operations while constantly looking for ways to improve information flow between these domains.
Force Multiplier: This role will be a critical force multiplier for the product strategy and engineering teams with responsibilities across both the EL-9 project and advanced projects group.
We are seeking a candidate with the following key experience and skills:
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Market Analysis: Collect customer feedback, conduct market research and competitive assessment, create market models, and synthesize insights into digestible and actionable products for internal engineering, leadership, and investor customers. The ideal candidate will have evaluated emerging aviation markets to evaluate demand, fleet scheduling, cost sensitivity, and other operational considerations
Forecasting and Financial Modeling: Analyze market data, trends, and behaviors to create forecasts and/or future scenarios for Electra’s products. Support data-driven insights on product costs, potential market share growth, and revenue potential.
Road mapping: Develop product roadmaps that include technology development, certification gates, manufacturing forecasts, and market penetration
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely across Electra’s engineering and business development teams to gather information, update product models, and infuse information back into these teams.
Support Conceptual Design: Synthesize market insights to provide critical input and guidance during the conceptual design phase to influence design decisions with quantitative analysis and advocacy.
Report Results and Recommendations: Prepare and present detailed reports, visualizations, and recommendations to project stakeholders, including leadership teams and external partners.
Collaborate and Lead University Partners: Interact with graduate students and principal investigators to support their contributions to various technical projects.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, operations research, economics, or a related field
6+ years of experience in relevant discipline areas or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
Required Skills:
Experience with data visualization, analysis, and management in large-scale simulations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, customers, and external partners
Proficient in Python or similar programming language
Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional time-management skills
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s or PhD degree in business or engineering discipline strongly desired
Pilot’s license, flight related hobbies, and/or previous aviation experience. The ideal candidate would have Part 135 or Part 121 operational experience.
Prior experience working on unconventional configurations (e.g., blended wing bodies, VTOL, or supersonic aircraft)
Experience with the aircraft development process and familiarity with aircraft systems.
Knowledge of FAA/EASA certification requirements, as applicable to novel aircraft designs
Familiarity with emerging trends in sustainable aviation, such as electric propulsion, hybrid systems, or high-performance materials
US Person (Citizen or Green Card) Preferred
Location:
Headquarters in Manassas, VA. Other locations will be considered for exceptional candidates.
Travel: <25%
Salary: Electra's salary range for this position is: $91,000.00- $231,000.00
Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in a warehouse/aviation and office environment, which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in handling light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, and different materials or equipment. Due to the nature of our business and projects, some fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions. You may need to lift up to 50 lbs.
