Study Group Head of Student Experience in Manama, Bahrain

Contract type: Full-Time – Fixed-term 12-month contract 

Location: Manama, Bahrain (on-site position)

As the sole pathway provider for the Bahrain campus of one of our university partners, from September 2024 we will be teaching and supporting students of undergraduate foundation programmes.

 

Study Group is looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as Head of Student Experience. This role involves leading a highly effective Student Experience department, which includes student experience services, and student-facing support staff. Along with it facilitating your team to enable students to thrive and study legally, safely and successfully. This role requires providing support across the Centre to ensure the academic and management teams can work effectively; implementing clear policies and efficient processes that drive operational excellence for all.

Also, this role involves ensuring first-rate compliance in visa and attendance systems; and participating in key quality assurance and enhancement activities which should be delivered according to Study Group, partner and any relevant regulatory body requirements. It also requires building professional

relationships within the network of ISCs, the partnership, and across the business’ enabling central functions to promote the Centre and build its success

This is an on-site teaching position, and all tutors are required to teach in person

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead and motivate the Centre Student Experience team to enhance student outcomes and experiences.

  • Contribute to developing and implementing the centre's strategy and priorities.

  • Encourage and support staff in their professional development.

  • Recruit new staff in line with Study Group policies.

  • Build effective partnerships with relevant counterparts.

  • Oversee and be accountable for various operational areas, including visa compliance, customer service, student welfare, data management, academic registry, timetabling, and finances.

  • Plan and manage new student inductions, ensuring smooth and compliant transitions.

  • Implement quality assurance processes for exams and assessments.

  • Organise assessment boards and related activities, liaising with external examiners and compiling reports.

  • Coordinate exam logistics, including timetables and invigilation.

  • Maintain the Centre’s business calendar and ensure quality assurance meetings are scheduled and recorded.

  • Participate in governance committees as agreed with the Head of Centre.

  • Oversee the implementation of actions from the Centre Action Plan.

  • Ensure proper application of financial procedures and accurate maintenance of finance and budget information.

  • Manage student debt effectively.

  • Ensure secure and efficient handling of student data in compliance with GDPR.

  • Oversee data processing for students, ensuring timely and correct enrolment and registration.

    ABOUT YOU

  • Administration or management training or qualification.

  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment.

  • Working with student management systems.

  • Experience with University/College database and reporting systems.

  • Experience teaching international students in UK higher or further education.
