Job Summary
The Personal Injury Department is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join its growing team. This position works closely with the litigation attorneys. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for legal document preparation, communication, administrative assistance, and supporting attorneys in various legal tasks and case management. Must be able to work 9am-6pm Eastern Time, but the position is fully remote.
Responsibilities and Duties
Draft and send correspondence to medical providers, including letters of representation and balance requests.
Call medical providers and obtain balances.
Assist in balance reductions.
Assists with maintaining Files and Database to ensure everything is documented accurately.
Perform miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed, including, research, spreadsheet management, and email writing to ensure operational efficiency.
Assists with other essential functions of the department.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have a Bachelor degree and at least 1 year of Legal Assistant or other similar legal administrative experience in Personal Injury law.
Proficient in writing and communication (English C1-C2 level)
Previous U.S. law firm experience strongly preferred.
Must have an interest in personal injury litigation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Calendar, etc.).
Good organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well independently but more importantly as part of a team.
Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.
