Responsibilities
Allan Myers is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Analyst Intern to join our Purchasing Team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in purchasing and supply-chain management within the heavy civil construction industry. This candidate will support our purchasing operations by analyzing data, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to cost-saving initiatives. Allan Myers is the leading heavy civil construction company in the mid-Atlantic region. From highways, bridges, roadways, and wastewater treatment plants, we are improving the communities we live and work in. You will receive on-the-job training from experienced members of our team to assist you in learning the basics of heavy civil construction and the Purchasing Department. You will collaborate with individuals who are willing to work Better, Faster, Safe every single day. Responsibilities: Accurately document and record vendor information. Assist in evaluating supplier performance. Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings. Analyze system data to support the Purchasing Department. Provide clear and effective feedback on data analysis. Analyze current and future performance and help the organiztion secure competitve advantage through its supply chain. Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems. Apply various advanced analytical techniques to solve complex operational issues and support significant strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic understanding of procurement and supply chain principles. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Must work well with others and meaningfully contribute to a team to accomplish a shared vision. Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Valid driver's license required.
