UL, LLC Laboratory Technician - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in Madrid, Spain

Reporting to the Engineering Leader, as our Laboratory Technician you will support our colleagues within Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) by performing safety tests for electric and electromagnetic emissions of electromechanical and electronic products.

  • Supports the EMC testing process in UL Laboratory by examination of test samples, reading blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams, measuring instruments and operational instructions.

  • Supports the evaluation of test performance and reviewing test and construction data with supervisor.

  • Builds and/or adapts setup and test equipment based on data sheets and instructions from Engineering department.

  • Operates designated machines and special laboratory test equipment.

  • Reports data to Engineers and other laboratory staff based on the instructions received.

  • Supports Engineers in communication with clients during the setup and performance of a test to demonstrate equipment test methods and/or to discuss test results.

  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms and preparing data sheets and test reports.

  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

  • Education: Graduado en grado superior de Formación Profesional (preferably related to: EMC, Radio Frequency, telecommunications, electrical engineering or similar).

  • Previous experience related to the electronics sector, preferably in electrical testing in a laboratory and/or calibration or telecommunications.

  • Experienced with the utilization of Electrical Test Equipment.

  • Experience working with measurement equipment (e.g., Multimeter, Oscilloscope etc.).

  • Good written and verbal English language skills.

  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
