Job Title: Sample Registration Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Sample Registration Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves a mix of sample registration, sample preparation, and client services, ensuring the smooth processing of samples from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Work in sample registration from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00/2:00 p.m., opening packages, registering and labeling samples, and operating in the sample registration area (conveyor system).

• Perform sample preparation tasks from 1:00/2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., including aseptic technique usage, sample cleanup, stocking, disposal, and media preparation.

• Answer client questions through email as part of client services.

• Manage sample inventory, including shipping and receiving.

• Run samples from the preparation area to the lab.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or Associate's degree in the sciences.

• 1+ years of experience in a food service position (server, bussing, bartender).

• Strong multitasking abilities and experience in fast-paced environments.

• Routine and repetitive experience (warehouse, assembly, basic lab).

• High attention to detail, ensuring accurate sample information matching.

• Computer experience, particularly with Microsoft Suite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Food testing or client service experience.

• Lab experience, particularly in media prep, biology, or chemistry.

Work Environment

The role is based in a lab setting focused on testing dietary microbiology and probiotics. The facility, located in Madison, has a fast-paced environment similar to production work, requiring timely test completions. The Microbiology department, consisting of around 20 employees, operates in a separate lab from the Chemistry department. The team works in a new building since January 2021, offering advancement opportunities and a bonus program based on performance and tenure. Attention to food allergies is essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
