JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This is a research coordinator position working with patients with cystic fibrosis who are participating in clinical trials. The research coordinator will participate in direct contact with patients during study visits. Excellent organizational skills are needed to coordinate visits with the principal investigator, UW adult and pediatric Pulmonary Clinic staff, UW Hospital Clinical Research Unit, and other UW research affiliate groups. Candidates must be responsive to communication with study monitors and the Office of Clinical Trials. Responsibilities: Coordinates clinical research studies, performing related tasks and activities. Collects information, recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility, and enrolls study participants and ensures subjects follow the research protocol. 10% Schedules logistics, determines workflows, and secures resources for a defined clinical research trial(s) 35% Recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility and enrolls trial participants, collects information, and answers questions under supervision of a medically licensed professional. May perform basic medical assessments after completion of required training/certification, such as collecting vital signs, obtaining weight, and performing phlebotomy 35% Manages research workflow components, collects, prepares, processes, and submits participant data and samples to appropriate entities, adhering to research protocols 5% Identifies work unit resources needs and manages supply and equipment inventory levels 15% Serves as an initial point of contact for clinical research participants and clinical staff, providing information regarding research procedures, expectations, and informational inquiries.
