Robert Half Finance & Accounting has partnered with a well-established and growing Construction/Real Estate company in the Madison area in search of a Project Accountant. In this role, you will be handling various accounting tasks, including account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, AIA billing, and general ledger management. Responsibilities:

• Perform account reconciliations promptly and accurately

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy

• Manage general ledger activities and maintain accurate records

• Execute bank reconciliations to verify our financial transactions

• Prepare and enter journal entries into the accounting system

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial tasks and reporting

• Ensure proper execution of month end close procedures

• Work with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software to manage financial data

• Facilitate AIA billing processes in accordance with industry standards

• Oversee contracts and manage accounting for construction projects.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience as a Project Accountant in the Real Estate & Property industry

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and managing General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Familiarity with AIA Billing procedures in the construction industry

• Ability to negotiate and manage Contracts related to construction projects

• Experience with Construction Projects - Accounting

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Current certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
