The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering seeks applicants at all ranks with a distinguished academic record and exceptional potential for creative research that applies chemical and biological engineering methodologies to advance medical frontiers. In particular, the department seeks candidates that will advance our understanding of the human immune system through technological advancements such as innovative therapies for immune-mediated diseases, stem cell biology, biomarkers of health and immune system interactions with the microbiome in health and disease. Candidates who can contribute to these priorities are encouraged to identify their strengths and experiences in these areas in their cover letter, research statement, and/or teaching statement. Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to curriculum updates and innovations to educate a diverse student body; mentoring graduate students and supervising their research; developing and directing a well-recognized and extramurally funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; contributing to professional and public service; and participating in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges.
