Description

We are seeking an experienced Network/Systems Administrator to join our client's team on a contract basis. This role involves a 50/50 split between network-related and server-related tasks. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex network, storage, and server issues, as well as deploying, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure components.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and resolve complex network, storage, and server issues, implementing corrective solutions to ensure smooth operations.

Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot infrastructure components, including but not limited to:

LANs, WANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi networks

Physical and virtual servers

Routers, firewalls, switches

Mobile devices using Mobile Device Management (MDM)

Battery backups

Track vulnerabilities, apply remediation measures, and implement patches for network and server assets.

Environment Details:

End users: over 2,000

Servers: 50+ in the Cloud

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 6 years in networking and server administration.

Proficient in:

Microsoft Operating Systems: Experience with various versions and environments.

Active Directory & Domain Architecture: Ability to explain experience and challenges faced in past roles.

Network Administration: Experience with Cisco switches, FortiGate firewalls, Meraki/Ruckus Wireless Access points (willingness to work with peer products is a plus).

Virtualization: Strong understanding of VMware/Hyper-V clusters and storage solutions.

Scripting/Automation: Familiarity with PowerShell or Python is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills to work effectively with end users and team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Network Administrator role

• Proficient in Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies

• Demonstrated understanding and application of Firewall Technologies

• Solid experience with Active Directory

• Extensive knowledge of LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network)

• Practical experience with VPN (Virtual Private Network)

• Familiarity with MDM (Mobile Device Management) Technologies

• Proven experience with Enterprise Storage systems

• Proficient in FortiGate systems

• Experience in managing Network Switches

• Proficient in handling Router Switches
