The Mechanic III will maintain equipment, systems and buildings within Meriter facilities and grounds in a safe and comfortable manner for our customers in compliance with standards created by the hospital and outside agencies governing the health care industry. Duties of an individual worker may be in a specialized area consistent with experience and the needs of the facilities.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets equipment manuals, traces out blueprints, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment, experience with multiply tools, repair various healthcare equipment and systems.
Responsible for operation, PMs and repair on the following equipment/systems:
Minor construction, repairs, installation, or equipment to building structures
HVAC components and sub-systems
Plumbing components and sub systems, sewer obstructions
Electrical components and sub systems
Belts, Bearing, Sheave alignment or replacement
All types of motors, compressors, or engines
Compressed air systems
Pneumatic Tube systems
Pneumatic Air systems
Fluid pumps and sub-systems
Knowledgeable with controls and sequence of operations – computer software based or mechanical
Beds and tables (electric, manual, and hydraulic)
Sterilizers
Light welding, Brazing and Soldering of various materials
Snow removal
Maintains acceptable levels of supplies and parts related to job duties
Schedules may vary to accommodate special projects and earned time relief.
Perform the duties or requirements as the “Shift Operator” as required
Proficient computer skills – used frequently to monitor systems “building automation”
Required Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED
Prior experience with mechanical/maintenance related work
Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years health care related maintenance experience
