Job Description Summary

The Manager of Market Research is responsible for designing, conducting, and managing research projects that provide critical insights to support strategic business decisions across the portfolio (Molecular Imaging and Contrast Media). This role involves overseeing both primary and secondary research initiatives, ensuring the collection, analysis, and reporting of accurate and actionable data. The Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to address key business questions and inform strategy.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Planning and Execution: Develop and manage comprehensive research plans that include both primary (surveys, interviews, focus groups) and secondary (industry reports, market databases) research methods.

  • Primary Research: Design, conduct, and oversee primary research projects to gather customer insights, market feedback, and competitive data. This includes managing third-party research vendors when necessary.

  • Secondary Research: Analyze existing market reports, industry publications, competitive intelligence, and other data sources to identify trends, market dynamics, and strategic opportunities.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Transform raw data into clear, actionable insights and present findings in concise, well-structured reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, product development, and other teams to understand research needs and provide insights that inform key strategic initiatives.

  • Research Vendor Management: Identify, engage, and manage external research vendors, ensuring quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

  • Support Strategic Projects: Collaborate with the Director Insights, Analytics, and Competitive Intelligence to support broader strategic projects by providing in-depth research and market analysis.

  • Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of research findings, maintaining high standards for data integrity and reporting.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest research methodologies and industry trends to improve research processes and ensure the organization remains competitive.

Key Capabilities:

  • Ability to design, conduct and managing research projects including selecting the best methodology

  • Capability to source, evaluate and synthesize data from secondary sources

  • Experience analyzing large data sets of quantitative and qualitative data and draw meaningful insights

  • High attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the strategic process

  • Strong presentation and communication skills to create executive presentations

  • Cross-functional influencing and collaboration to understand broader business research needs and align findings with business strategies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Market Research, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5-7+ years of experience in market research, including experience with both primary and secondary research methodologies.

  • Proven ability to conduct and manage comprehensive research projects, from planning through execution and reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation, statistical analysis, and reporting.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Familiarity with research tools and platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, SPSS, Nielsen, etc.).

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is a plus.
