JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Material Distribution Services (MDS) is a department within Purchasing Services and is located at the Verona Operations facility. It houses UW-Madison\'s redelivery services, manages inventories and catalogs for numerous entities, and provides warehousing space for campus schools/colleges/divisions and other State of Wisconsin Agencies. Its catalogs offer over 300 individual items from the Verona Operations facility to the entire campus community. The Inventory Control Coordinator II at the University of Wisconsin\'s Verona Operations facility will support campus warehousing and redelivery functions by overseeing the inventory and replenishment of campus core stock catalog items. The Inventory Control Coordinator II will work within the MDS warehouse team to receive and put away deliveries of stocked inventory, as well as performing all activities associated with the picking/packing and scanning of all orders processed for delivery to campus on our fleet of trucks. The successful applicant will possess strong communication, customer service, inventory management, and general warehousing skills. Responsibilities: Functions as lead worker within a work unit. Assists with development, documentation, and implementation of operational policies and procedures, training of lower-level staff, space management, and customer service. Ensures stock supply is maintained, resolves discrepancies, and ensures shipping and receiving is performed according to established policies and procedures. 5% Serves as the first point of contact for individuals and groups using various communication mediums and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities 5% Assists in training lower-level staff and peers, provides guidance on projects; ensures policies and procedures adhere to unit objectives and established strategies 5% Assists in developing, documenting, and implementing operational policies and procedures, and inventory control best practices; analyzes space requirements, layout considerations, equipment utilizations, material handling procedures, and recommends improvements 30% Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders following...
