JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Older adults undergoing emergency surgery are at a high risk of developing delirium and subsequently suffering from a cluster of cognitive, physical and psychological issues. Our team is currently performing a randomized control trial to study the effectiveness of collaborative care interventions at improving long-term outcomes in older patients who suffer emergency surgery-related delirium. You will have the opportunity to work with a smart and passionate group of research staff on a wide range of tasks that span the full lifespan of a research study, including but not limited to screening surgery patients for eligibility, performing consent discussions in a clinical setting with eligible patients, administering neurocognitive assessments to study participants and collecting and storing sensitive study data, including protected health information. Our mission is to transform healthcare for the better, for all, now. Responsibilities: Coordinates clinical research studies, performing related tasks and activities. Collects information, recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility, and enrolls study participants and ensures subjects follow the research protocol. 40% Recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility and enrolls trial participants, collects information, and answers questions under supervision of a medically licensed professional. May perform basic medical assessments after completion of required training/certification, such as collecting vital signs, obtaining weight, and performing phlebotomy 35% Manages research workflow components, collects, prepares, processes, and submits participant data and samples to appropriate entities, adhering to research protocols 5% Identifies work unit resources needs and manages supply and equipment inventory levels 20% Serves as an initial point of contact for clinical research participants and clinical staff, providing information regarding research procedures, expectations, and informational inquiries.
