Actalent Field Engineer in Madison, Wisconsin

Description

Travel to new construction projects - K-12, clinics, data centers, pharma / bioscience buildings to perform basic point to point checks on building automation systems that are being installed / installed: - chiller plant controls, FDD, HVAC, energy monitoring, demand response, lighting, indoor air quality, humidity, temperature, elevator performance, etc. Use an ipad to go through the settings and controls to ensure it's up and running working correctly; running diagnostics. No front-end Engineering or Design. Just site startups for the DDC side of equipment and commissioning support. We have dedicated Engineering and Design roles. Follow drawing packages then update as needed. Scope of Position: As a Field Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and is customer focused. You will work on solving increasingly complex problems and assist in the training and development of less experienced Field Engineers. Essential Job Functions: Initiate, install, troubleshoot optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology. Serve as local contact for technical issues and leader in the field. Offer effective solutions for increasingly complex system issues. Provide turnkey project delivery on small to medium projects. Responsible for ensuring that systems operate properly, to include controls, sensors, and software. Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports. Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction. Communicate and document the status and details of the project for the customer. Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

2-3 experience in a HVAC or Electrical Field role Need to be really good with computers, smart technology Need to have been in a role where they had some sort of customer or contractor interaction Travel 70% to sites. The other 30% they are working in their Madison office or from home. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field. Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs. Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance. Preferred Qualifications: Ability for scheduled travel 35% of the time. Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field. Experience with building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing increasingly complex building automation controls. Basic knowledge of navigating and integrating into a variety of building automation systems. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology. Proficient in the use of an electrical multi-meter Good understanding of common HVAC systems such as RTUs, air handlers, VAV boxes, Chillers, Boilers Ability to read and understand HVAC mechanical prints Ability to check out/commission common HVAC controls devices such as sensors, valves, damper motors, relays

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $39.00
