JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available to work within our Transportation and Community Planning team. This opportunity is available in the following office locations: Madison, WI; De Pere, WI; or, Wauwatosa, WI. Responsibilities focus on ensuring transportation projects meet all regulations and procedural requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), related environmental legislation, and FHWA policies and procedures. Participate in transportation planning projects, corridor studies, land use and urban design plans, bicycle and pedestrian mobility projects, public involvement, grants, research, data collection and analysis, and document writing. Some travel may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Completion of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process and documentation for transportation projects; bicycle, pedestrian, trails, and enhancements; sustainable transport and climate change; and project development and mitigation. Document impacts of proposed actions, assessment of potential effects, alternatives analysis and proposed mitigation strategies. Be responsible for coordination of the required State and federal environmental documents which involve day to day interaction with designers, consultants, as well as the State and Federal regulatory agencies. Be responsible for conducting field and desktop environmental review and analysis for design projects. Participate in public involvement programs. Attend public hearings, agency meetings, and technical discussions to obtain information and data that have an impact on transportation programs and projects. Prepare and present technical findings and project information. Complete federal, state, and local permit applications related to wetlands, floodplains, public waters, threatened/endangered species, and other environmental The successful candidate will have the following background: Bachelor\'s degree in urban and regional planning, landscape architecture, ecology, botany, natural resources, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university. At least 2 years of relevant experience. A valid driver\'s license. The ideal candidate will have any or all of the following: Knowledge of or previous project experience in NEPA documentation with State DOTs. Previous project or work experience in environmental or transportation planning. Experience completing federal, state, and local permits for wetlands, floodplains, public waters, or other environmental resources.
