ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company Cloud Administrator II in Madison, Wisconsin

Responsible for adhering to the security and privacy requirements within AFS security trainings and within relevant Accenture Information and Security Policy and Procedures such as AFS-0090 Policy on Privacy and Personal Information and AFS-0056 System Security policies.

As a Cloud Administrator, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of maintaining and securing cloud infrastructures, primarily focusing on AWS and Oracle Cloud platforms. Your daily tasks will involve the application and troubleshooting of OS layer patches, ensuring the integrity and security of the systems within a FedRAMP High environment. You will be expected to meticulously review Tenable Nessus Scan results and take decisive action to implement the recommended vulnerability remediations. Additionally, your role will require you to delve into OS level logs to diagnose and resolve any issues that arise during patch installations, maintaining the smooth operation of our cloud services.

Your proficiency in navigating and managing cloud environments will be put to the test as you work with tools like the AWS Cloud Portal and OCI Portal. A strong background in troubleshooting across various operating systems, including Linux OS, Oracle Linux, and Windows Server, will be highly beneficial. Moreover, experience with Ansible troubleshooting will give you an edge in automating and streamlining our cloud management processes. Your ability to quickly adapt and apply your technical knowledge will be crucial in this role, as you will be operating during the 3pm-12am shift, a time when swift and effective action is often most needed.

To excel in this position, you should bring a solid track record of resolving complex technical issues within cloud environments. Your previous exposure to high-security standards and compliance frameworks, such as FedRAMP, will be invaluable in navigating the stringent requirements of our operations. A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving will serve you well as you tackle the challenges of this role. Your commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest cloud technologies will ensure that our cloud infrastructure remains robust, secure, and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and troubleshoot OS layer patches

  • Review Tenable Nessus Scan results and execute suggested vulnerability remediations

  • Troubleshoot OS level logs to resolve failed patch installs

  • Work within a FedRAMP High environment

  • Troubleshoot Linux OS, Oracle Linux, and Windows Server

  • Troubleshoot Ansible

  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Portal and OCI Portal

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience; Master’s Degree preferred

  • Advanced experience with Linux and Windows administration, particularly with servers in virtualized and hosted cloud environments

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle, or Microsoft Azure cloud provider experience for hosting and migration

  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services related to patching in both Linux and Windows environments

  • Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, and networking

  • Ability to monitor services on production servers

  • 12+ years of IT experience with a combination of:

  • 5+ years of cloud engineering experience, working with one or more vendor platforms.

  • 5+ years experience debugging Microsoft Windows or Linux based operating systems in an administrative/support/engineering capacity

Work Shift Requirements

  • Second Shift (3pm-12am)

  • Occasional flex time or overtime

  • Ability to participate in on-call support rotation

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of server applications such as: Tableau, Fortiweb, Elastic, OpenVPN, Duo, etc.

  • AWS, Azure, OCI certifications

  • Security+ Certification

  • Expertise in OS troubleshooting with a focus on patch management application (Ivanti)

  • Familiarity with Desktop-as-a-service (Daas) specifically AWS Workspaces

  • Experience supporting technology in the Federal space

  • Experience in supporting customers in a ticket-based and email environment (ServiceNow)

  • Ability to translate complex technologies into simple to understand concepts for clients

  • Assist in the identification, definition and implementation of process improvement

  • Brings a high sense of urgency for all tasks

  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and able to provide timely responses

  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within schedule

  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot issues by using process of elimination

Compensation Ranges

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
