JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison\'s Information School seeks highly qualified candidates for a tenured position in information sciences. This faculty position will be an academic nine-month, tenured appointment at the Associate Professor level, to start August 2025. Applications at the Professor level may be considered in exceptional cases. The successful candidate will advance the educational mission of the College of Letters & Science that values, prioritizes, and actualizes evidence-based and student-centered teaching and (undergraduate student) mentoring. They will contribute to an inclusive, fair, and equitable environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community. Applications are specifically encouraged in, but not limited to, the following areas: Health informatics; Human centered Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; Policy analysis or policy-making studies of, data, data governance, AI enabled systems, or other computational information systems. We are particularly interested in reviewing applications from candidates whose research aligns with one of the following University of Wisconsin RISE initiatives: RISE-THRIVE will focus on strengthening UW-Madison\'s investments and leadership in two distinct yet complementary areas: the science of immunology and the study of the healthspan. Some possible areas of interest relevant to RISE-THRIVE include health informatics, health information sharing in communities, health information seeking, and computational and information technologies in relation to children and/or elderly populations. RISE-EARTH will focus around two themes. The first is to reimagine economic and environmental systems to, for example, find innovative ways to revitalize communities with new modes of transportation or renew agricultural lands to reduce erosion and enhance biodiversity. The other will be aimed at building sustainable energy and technical systems - for instance, developing new clean energy technologies and ways to capture and store carbon.
