The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Drug Development IT (DD IT) Portfolio Governance and aligned operational processes including budget planning and prioritization, business case approvals and operational Metrics and Portfolio reporting. Promote opportunities for improvement that will streamline and automate operations. This job will require managing a broad set of stakeholders and sponsors ensuring Business objectives are met with the right sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the definition and delivery of DD IT operational Metrics and Portfolio reporting:

  • Build and maintain analytical reporting capabilities that support DD IT organization.

  • Collaborate and share internally developed capabilities with peer teams to ensure awareness and efficiencies across the IT organization.

  • Create frameworks to collect, cleanse and consume data into our target reporting tools/repositories.

  • Develop modeling capabilities in support of strategic objectives/programs of the organization.

  • Research, identify and resolve root causes driving financial variances.

  • Manage and track IT investment decisions for digital capabilities and drive continuous improvement of related process and tools.

  • Support the DD IT portfolio financial management including annual budget planning and supporting all key financial milestones and required tracking.

  • Develop and contribute to portfolio governance and status through DD IT Portfolio and Financial Reviews

  • Support the DD IT Portfolio Governance processes and ensure portfolio prioritization process aligns with strategic priorities and value opportunity.

  • Assist in the build and maintenance of Portfolio Governance Practices that enable a culture of Quality and shared sense of accountability of day-to-day operations.

  • Mentor junior team members to develop their skills in support of their career goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Requires advanced knowledge applicable to a wide range of work in own function and thorough knowledge of other functions, typically gained through a university degree and/or 6 plus years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated analytical thought using various data sources and internal/external environment. Understands the broader implications of actions and perspective. Synthesizes results and links patterns and trends.

  • Experienced in process improvement. Has lead analysis of current states, deliver strong recommendations in understanding complexity in the environment, and the ability to execute to bring complex solutions to completion.

  • Must have knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and have a working knowledge of the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

  • Experience with software development methodologies and requirements-gathering techniques such as Agile (Scrum, SAFe, etc.) and Waterfall is preferred.

  • Competence in business case development, definition of business outcomes and measuring outcome realization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau etc.).

  • Strong communicator via all media: collaboration technologies (Teams, SharePoint, etc.) and presentations, emails, verbal - with a wide variety of audiences.

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with employees and management at all levels.
