Nesco Resource Operator B - 1st Shift in Madison Heights, Michigan
Nesco Resource is seeking Operators to join the growing team of one of our clients in the Holly area. Operators will work with SMT machines to solder small parts such as circuits, transformers, sockets, and other electronic components. Conduct product testing to ensure quality standards. Good manual dexterity is required to position, align, and place components for SMT machines, which must be tended by replenishing their supplies and efficiently programming them.
This is a 1st shift opportunity. The hours are 7 AM -- 3 PM, Monday through Friday and the pay rate starts at $17.50/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Screen Printer, Glue Dispensing Machine, Pick and Place Machine, and Reflow Oven.
- Track machine performance and effectively communicate with management as problems arise.
- Interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure product quality.
- Responsible for accessing company procedures and navigating shop floor controls.
- Utilize a manual, semi-automatic, or automatic solder paste stencil machine.
- Follow practices to ensure ISO standards are being met.
- Replace damaged, missing, and misplaced components utilizing hand soldering operation.
- Mount components such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on the panel or printed circuit board.
- Provide preventive maintenance, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems to increase company productivity.
- Assess and ensure tolerance of frequency and temperatures based on customer-provided specifications.
- Analyze test data and identify trends or patterns that may indicate quality issues or areas for improvement.
- Report any non-conformance or deviations from quality standards to the appropriate personnel for further investigation.
- Ability to tune specific components or edge caps on PCBs while performing test operations.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned.

Required:
- Must be familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process.
- Must be able to properly clean boards.
- Able to perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components.
- Able to perform visual inspections of SMT assemblies.
- Able to interpret IPC standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
- Must be familiar with and able to use hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Professionally and effectively communicate both verbally and written with coworkers and management.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data output from the testing equipment and resolve failures as required.
- Continuously improve testing function
- A self-starter with good organizational skills and analytical skills with the capability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
