Nesco Resource Facilities Maintenance Technician- 2nd shift in Madison Heights, Michigan

Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician for a Tier One Automotive Supplier in Warren, MI. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and improving facility systems and equipment to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly skilled in mechanical and electrical systems, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.

Shift: 2:00PM -- 10:30 PM Pay Rate: $32.26/hr Shift Premium .25


Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, power distribution, plumbing, process water systems, cooling towers, and other facility-related systems.
  • Maintain and repair building infrastructure, including lighting, dock areas, utility drops, flooring, and sewer systems.
Preventive Maintenance
  • Conduct daily inspections of facility areas, document findings, and address any issues.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to enhance uptime and extend equipment life.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance processes when necessary.
Installation & Upgrades
  • Execute new installations of facility systems, following schematics and documentation.
  • Update drawings, recommend spare parts, and assist with system upgrades as required.
Safety & Compliance
  • Comply with mechanical/electrical codes, regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Ensure work areas are safe, clean, and organized following repairs or installations.
Diagnostic & Technical Support
  • Use electrical meters, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and follow work instructions for assigned tasks.

Key Competencies
  • Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical codes, standards, and government regulations.
  • Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, performing independent repairs and installations.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, plumbing, pumps, motors, cooling towers, and carpentry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a self-driven mindset.

Education & Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman's card or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to pass a Facilities Maintenance Technician aptitude test.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in a Tier One automotive or manufacturing environment.
