Founded in 1918, CNIB is one of Canada’s oldest charities. For more than 60 years, CNIB Lake Joe has been providing exciting, safe, and accessible camp experiences for Canadians with sight loss. CNIB Lake Joe is looking for a Clerk, Guest Servicesto help us bring the magic of summer camp to life for ‘kids of all ages’ with sight loss, and their families!
Your Impact at CNIB
Oversee and assist with the operation of the Tuck Shop; monitor inventory, restock, organize the retail area, and process transactions with guests.
Assist with the operation of the online camp store when needed; monitor online orders and process orders for delivery.
Count the Tuck Shop float nightly, track the Tuck Shop sales for various payment types.
Act as first point of contact to guests at Reception and Tuck Shop.
Inspect guestrooms prior to arrivals and ensure room standards are met. Document as required.
Prepare guest information in accessible formats (i.e., digital, large print, Braille, etc.) as required.
Monitor general email inbox; respond to and/or flag emails for Camp Office & Registration Coordinator.
Make daily announcements in correlation with the current program.
Perform general office duties: data entry, filing, photocopying, etc.
Who you are:Education and Certifications
Enrolled in a recognized Business Certificate Program, or equivalent job-related experience.
Current (within 6 months of start date) Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C
Experience and Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills, including patience and communication.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office and Office 365 including word processing and experience working in a database environment including queries.
Experience working in an office setting is an asset.
Experience using a POS (point of sale system), an asset.
Experience using SQUARE tools, an asset.
Knowledge of CampBrain software, an asset.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multitask.
Planning, organization and time management skills.
Administrative and operational experience an asset.
Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
Work Environment
Respects the importance of confidential information while effectively functioning as a team member or working independently.
This position may require the ability to work occasional overtime/flex time.
This position may have to deal with difficult situations or people.
Ability to work flexible hours in a dynamic and busy environment, with frequent interruptions.
Must reside at CNIB Lake Joe during operational season and be willing to share accommodations with other staff member.
