The Predictive Maintenance Associate Manager provides the technical expertise and leadership to the Predictive and Lubrication Departments. In this role you will oversee the continued development, implementation, and leadership of the mill’s predictive maintenance efforts. You will use your experience to ensure monitoring strategies and preventative tasks on equipment are effective and use advance analysis techniques to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. In addition, you will identify opportunities and make recommendations to streamline day-to-day work processes, implement new work procedures to support the change process, work closely with maintenance teams, operations leadership, and reliability engineers to analyze data, determine best practices, and provide QAQC support to drive continued improvement efforts within the mill.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the four onsite predictive maintenance contractors responsible for vibration data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Support eight union employees in their daily activities as part of the lubrication department.

  • Coordinate the onsite mechanical integrity contractor, consisting of two API certified inspectors.

  • Analyze equipment trends & historical data to recommend and justify repairs to reduce equipment downtime.

  • Determine how process variation and equipment operation can impact equipment reliability.

  • Promote consistency by standardizing procedures & operations within area of responsibility.

  • Support capital projects by participating in setting equipment criteria and specifications to optimize equipment/system reliability and life cycle cost.

  • Participate on production shutdown teams, providing input into needed equipment inspection and repair procedures.

  • Downtime data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills

  • Reliability analytical tools

  • Failure analysis including preservation of evidence techniques

  • Maintenance and reliability best practices, including the work management process

  • Rotating equipment and alignment techniques

  • Precision Maintenance Practices

  • Lubrication and the fundamentals of interpreting oil analysis results

  • Vibration analysis and interpretation of vibration analysis reports

  • Thermography analysis – Mechanical and Electrical

  • Ultrasonic bearing lubrication

  • Fundamentals of nondestructive testing

  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

Essential Skills and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years relevant experience OR High School diploma with 6-10 years of relevant experience

  • Accredited Vibration Certification of a Level 2 or higher.

  • Accredited Ultrasound Level 1 Certification – Complete within 1 Year of Hire Date

  • Lubrication MLA/MLT 1 Certification - Complete within 1 Year of Hire Date

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable Predictive and Preventative Maintenance technologies

  • Experience with SKF Aptitude Analyst Software and Data Collection Devices

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e., safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times a respirator).

  • Ability to perform work at a computer and other administrative/managerial tasks.

  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, 7-day weeks, and opposing shifts, when needed.

  • Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:

  • Heat/cold temperatures (inclement weather)

  • Indoor/outdoor environment

  • Dusty environment

  • Noisy environment

  • Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes

  • Elevated places, to include stairs/ladders

Pay Range: $84,170.00 - $112,195.00
