MISSION / SUMMARY: This position is critical to the supervision of the E&I maintenance of equipment in the Macon mill.

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

The E&I maintenance Manager directly manages E&I maintenance functions through 4 planners, 2 reliability engineers, and 4 supervisors and indirectly 40-80 hourly employees across the mill. The incumbent must possess the ability to manage by key performance indicators. E&I maintenance planning and execution are key functions of this position. This role actively leads and participates in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the mill.

  • Establish and direct E&I maintenance operations in a safe and orderly manner providing quality services according to job schedules and customer specifications.

  • Develop, plan, and administer material and labor usage.

  • Establish and provide the operational expertise component of leading and managing our cultural change process, the strategic and forward-thinking capabilities in both the operational and human capital areas of the operation.

  • Develop improved methods for new capital investments, cost reduction and equipment refurbishment.

  • Administer and implement Labor relations (CBA) through consultation with the Human Resource and Mill Managers.

  • Assist in preparation of budgets and standards for cost measurement.

  • Determine training needs and administer appropriate training programs for salaried and hourly employees within E&I maintenance and planning in order to function in the most reliable manner.

  • Develop and provide leadership with problem solving strategies that result in the successful execution of key performance objectives.

  • Create, implement, and monitor local KPI’s for department.

  • Use six sigma and lean processes to implement process improvement projects to optimize equipment and reduce downtime.

  • Preserve asset management systems for equipment performance and reliability improvement.

  • Promote ISO standards throughout department.

  • Administer and implement Labor relations (CBA) through consultation with the Human Resource and Mill Managers.

  • Provide leadership with the implementation of problem-solving strategies and execution of key performance objectives in the Mill.

  • Coach Supervisors and help their growth in all areas of management.

  • Foster employee engagement initiatives.

  • Encourage a behavior-based crew lead safety process.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of E&I maintenance supervisory experience; pulp and paper industry preferred. This position demands a knowledge of precision E&I maintenance techniques as well as knowledge of RCM (Reliability Centered E&I maintenance). Experience on gas fired boilers, gas with auxiliary fuel boilers, and steam turbines is a plus.

Pay Range: $101,840.00 - $135,755.00
