SEMCO - Supervisor, Operations

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Operations Supervisor plans and directs the work activities of field personnel. This includes installing, operating, and maintaining gas service lines, pipelines, meter installations & maintenance activity, emergency response, regulator stations, and gas storage fields within the assigned service area.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all field operations, including the day-to-day installation and maintenance of gas service lines, pipelines, meter installations & maintenance, regulator stations, and gas storage fields as assigned.

  • Direct the fulfillment of project assignments, within budget, with quality, and on schedule.

  • Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures consistent with Company goals and objectives.

  • Ensure internal control procedures and processes are followed and periodically review internal controls and processes for improvement.

  • Train, monitor, coach, develop, and evaluate unit employees.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and cross-departmental training.

  • Prepares regular and special reports for regional operations leadership.

  • Partner with construction contractors and external vendors to ensure safety, compliance, efficiency, and financial parameters are followed.

  • Administer and enforce SEMCO's safety programs.

  • Required to stand on-call in the Westside Supervisor On-Call rotation.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, and/or an equivalent level of experience.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience. Supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of construction and maintenance of natural gas transmission and distribution systems and related equipment.

  • Proven organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate data, compile statistics, and prepare professional reports.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to lead effectively, with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations.

  • Working knowledge of computer business software applications used by the Company and ability to learn new applications.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

  • Ability to participate in the on-call rotation.

We offer a competitive salary range of $88,000 to $107,875 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
