Air Mobility Command Food Service Worker Leader in MacDill AFB, Florida

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Food & Beverages Facilities of the 6th Force Support Squadron Community Service Flight, MacDill AFB, FL. Physical effort: Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Continuous standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending. Uncomfortably high temperature and humidity are created by steam and heat from preparing beverages and dishwashing. Responsibilities If interested in applying for this position you may preview the online application: As a working leader, performs the following types of duties: Provides needed information or decisions from supervisors on problems that arise during work; relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets work started and works along with others to set work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures that the work-site materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security, safety, and housekeeping guidelines. Operates a limited coffee/bar operations with pre-packaged snacks and drinks. Prepares and serves a limited variety of hot beverages (i.e., brewed coffees, lattes, espresso, tea, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, etc.) by selecting, mixing, and brewing the proper ingredients according to the number of servings required. Sells and serves a variety of cold beverages and prepackaged snack and food items, such as soda, juice, cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. May have to assist in bar operation serving pre-bottled or pre-mixed cocktails. Operates a cash register, rings-up sales, and accept payments and processes changes to patrons. Prepares documentation for cash funds accountability and related cash records. Sets up and prepares area for service and obtains cash bank. Prepares tables and side service stands with hot and cold food items and customer areas with napkins, straws, cup lids, condiments, utensils. Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner and replenishes items as necessary. Breaks down and cleans area when meals are complete. Cleans area to include operating a dishwasher or manually washing (scrapes, soaks, scours and scrubs) bowls, pots and pans, glassware, beverage makers (coffee urns), and other utensils. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as coffee machines, ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind refrigerators, under and behind kitchen equipment or table areas, washes floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, sanitizes garbage cans. May unload food from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area. Assists with inventories and identifies items for re-ordering. Knowledge in either bartending or mixology is desired. Must be able to plan, coordinate and time sequence steps needed to prepare food items on time without overcooking or waste. Must possess skills in dealing with the public. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
