About this Position
This is a design engineering role in the Rotorcraft & Turboprop Engineering (RTPE) organization. In this role the engineer will be responsible for leading activities in the Rotorcraft engine lines in the combustion and turbine modules. This includes New Product Introductions (NPI), Component Improvement Programs (CIP), manufacturing & assembly support activities and identifying & leading strategic engineering initiatives of existing RTPE products (CT7/T700/T408/T64 engines) and components (structures, rotors, airfoils, and combustors).

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Execution
Design, analyze and deliver on turbomachinery components.
Assess the quality of information given, asking pertinent questions to stakeholders, offering new solutions to problems and constructing and providing recommendations.
Use robust Daily Management and Action Planning for program deliverables and milestones.
Culture and Planning
Promote a culture of transparency, candor, proactive planning, and execution.
Act as a liaison between engineering, quality, supply chain, and program teams to ensure alignment analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities design and process improvements.
Create and deliver presentations at various required gate reviews, and support summarizing the analysis plan, the results, and final engineering recommendations, inclusive of financial planning and strategy.
Decision Making
Use high-level judgment to make design and analysis decisions.
Manage complex turbomachinery problem solving and offer new solutions using multiple sources of information, with consideration of different approaches.
Leadership and Communication
- Lead projects inclusive of communicating difficult concepts and influencing others, while fostering relationships of mutual trust and respect.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical design or similar engineering role.
Desired Characteristics
Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical design or similar engineering role.
Experience leading projects including indirect reports.
Demonstrated expertise in CAD design and analysis tools, especially Unigraphics/NX, ANSYS classic.
Experience and familiarity with GD&T principles and reading drawings.
Experience in manufacturing, especially high-precision, turbomachinery components.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Strong oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems independently.
Ability to independently organize, document, plan and execute simultaneous projects while aligning with business priorities.
