Job Title: Project Manager - Airport Rehabilitation
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a 120-day rehabilitation project at Lynchburg Airport. The project is valued at $10 million and requires a professional who can work day shifts while managing a team that operates at night. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, civil, or aviation projects and will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Long term opportunity, will move to next project up.
Responsibilities
Lead by example and act in a professional manner, always representing the company in an exemplary manner, and encourage similar behavior in the project team.
Promote a collaborative environment within the project team, including staff, client, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
Work with the Project Superintendent and/or Construction Manager to ensure that adequate personnel, resources, and equipment are in place for project execution.
Ensure that site staff and subcontractors comply with current safety legislation and company procedures to deliver the project safely, with health, safety, and welfare as core values.
Be aware of project risks and work with the Project Management Team to manage these risks effectively.
Understand specification and contract requirements to ensure works are executed to correct standards.
Prepare monthly payment applications and progress reports for clients as well as internal monthly reporting requirements to senior management.
Implement good cost and quality control measures in line with company procedures, ensuring direct reports understand production outputs and cost awareness.
Be aware of the commercial strategy and manage changes to ensure value recovery and minimize costs.
Make key decisions independently while keeping the Senior Management Team informed and in line with company procedures.
Delegate appropriately and promote independence, decision-making, and accountability within the project team.
Communicate key issues to the Project Management and Senior Management Teams.
Ensure effective and appropriate written communications and reports to the Project Manager and clients in line with company procedures and project requirements.
Attend daily and weekly internal briefings and progress meetings.
Identify and assist with the preparation of supply requirements for materials.
Essential Skills
8+ years of experience in construction, civil, or aviation projects, or a degree with relevant experience - 3 years management.
Experience with asphalt or civil projects is preferred.
Management experience.
Ability to pass a TSA badge check.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with general contractor or subcontractor roles.
Experience managing projects valued between $10 - $20 million.
Willingness to travel.
Work Environment
This role requires working day shifts at Lynchburg Airport. The project manager should be prepared to travel, and lodging, allowance, and a vehicle with a gas card will be provided.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00
