BWXT is currently seeking a Multimedia & Design Specialist! This role offers a hybrid working model with a requirement to be in close proximity to one of the following key locations: Washington D.C., Tysons, VA, Lynchburg, VA, or Charlotte, NC.
This role requires a versatile individual with a strong background in various multimedia formats and design principles. The ideal candidate will possess experience in graphic design, video production, animation, and digital content creation. This position focuses on crafting compelling visual and multimedia content that aligns with our brand and effectively communicates our message across multiple platforms. This role may require travel to different company sites.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Develops, creates, and designs engaging multimedia content, including graphics, presentations, videos, animations, and interactive elements for use across various platforms such as websites, social media, and marketing materials.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and product development, to brainstorm and execute creative ideas and projects.
Ensures all multimedia content adheres to brand guidelines, voice, and strategy while maintaining a consistent style and quality across all platforms.
Edits and optimizes video content for various channels, ensuring high-quality and effective storytelling.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining project schedules.
Remains current with industry trends and technology advancements in multimedia design and production.
Conducts research and gathers content requirements for multimedia projects, ensuring all materials are relevant and engaging.
Provides training and support to team members on multimedia tools and best practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in multimedia design, graphic design, or a related role.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro), as well as familiarity with digital asset management tools.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools.
Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS, and WordPress.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively articulate ideas and concepts.
A strong portfolio showcasing previous multimedia and design work.
Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with motion graphics and animation is highly desirable.
Video production and photography experience an asset.
Pay: $64,000 - $101,000
The base salary range for this position in VA at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $101,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
