Foster Fuels, Inc. Human Resources Generalist in Lynchburg, Virginia

The position supports a broad range of disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits. The Human Resources Generalist ensures their work is conducted in accordance with federal and state regulations, company policy and practices to ensure that requirements are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

DUTIES

  • Reviews resumes, schedules interviews for all locations, tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up to candidates at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Conducts on-boarding and interviews at all Foster Fuels' facilities according to the position location.
  • Provide assistance by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Researches and writes job descriptions and employee requisitions.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation with E-Verify and maintains I-9 files.
  • Submits new-employee background checks and drug screens.
  • Schedules meetings as requested by the VP of HR.
  • Prepares new employee files and files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Establishes relationships with trade schools and truck driving schools for recruiting.
  • Assists with providing research for policies, training, strategic planning, and other human resource issues.
  • Provides support on projects and implementations as assigned.

KEY CANDIDATE SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years HR experience in a corporate environment including recruiting, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Familiar and knowledgeable with legal and legislative requirements of Human Resources.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HRIS/TAQ software and system implementations.
  • SHRM-CP credential preferred.
