Brown-Forman Miss Mary Bobos Hospitality Coordinator in Lynchburg, Tennessee

At Miss Mary Bobo's Restaurant, a cornerstone of the Jack Daniel's Homeplace, we're dedicated to delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests up to 7 days a week. The Hospitality Coordinator will play a vital role in leading our team to success, overseeing a range of operational and leadership duties that drive seamless daily operations. Responsibilities will include guiding the recruitment, training, and scheduling of our restaurant hosts, expertly managing daily guest seating charts, supporting our co-op student program, and optimizing retail inventory management. Additionally, the Hospitality Lead will leverage their technical skills to oversee our XOLA and Lightspeed Retail systems, manage administrative tasks with precision, and address guest concerns with empathy and resolve. As a key liaison, this role will facilitate effective communication and coordination with internal and external partners, ensuring the

success of daily operations and special events. We are seeking a multifaceted leader with a passion for exceptional customer service, team collaboration, and process optimization.

What You Can Expect:

  • Implement effective recruitment, training, and scheduling strategies for restaurant hosts, ensuring optimal team performance.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and coaching to enhance host skills and knowledge.

  • Manage daily seating charts, communicating precise staffing needs.

  • Oversee the technical operations of XOLA and Lightspeed Retail systems, ensuring efficient and accurate processes.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by filling in as a table host as needed, maintaining exceptional service standards.

  • Design and implement weekly cleaning duty checklists for students, promoting a clean and organized environment.

  • Provide guidance and support to co-op students, fostering their growth and development.

  • Analyze and manage retail inventory levels, optimizing stock management and minimizing waste.

  • Oversee and process retail purchase orders, receivings, and credits in Lightspeed Retail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Execute annual inventory procedures, maintaining precise records and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop and update comprehensive checklists for front-of-house opening and closing duties, ensuring consistency and excellence.

  • Maintain and update the operations manual, ensuring it remains a relevant and valuable resource.

  • Manage administrative tasks, including daily reporting, with precision and attention to detail.

  • Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a prompt, professional, and empathetic manner.

  • Collaborate with the manager to develop engaging content for the social media team, enhancing brand awareness and reputation.

  • Plan and execute monthly staff birthday celebrations, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure the successful execution of events, meetings, and projects.

  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date business licenses and certifications, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.

  • Embody a commitment to teamwork, mutual respect, and inclusivity, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 3-5 years experience in Business, Hospitality, Retail, Tourism, or related fields.

  • High school education or equivalent.

  • Leadership experience; preferably in a restaurant/hospitality setting.

  • Demonstrated skills and ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels including internal and external; management groups; sales, marketing; wholesalers, and retailers.

  • Must be willing to work outside of scheduled hours to cover up to a 7-day-a-week operation and special events.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience hosting groups; comfortable with speaking in front of large groups

  • Knowledge of the history of Jack Daniel’s, Ms. Mary Bobo’s, and the town of Lynchburg.

  • Must possess or be able to acquire a ServSafe Food Permit.

  • Must have a good knowledge of the safety and security policies of the Jack Daniel Distillery.

What Makes You Unique:

  • 1-3 years experience at a Distillery Homeplace

  • 1-3 years of restaurant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual
