Are you a finance professional with a passion for sustainability, packaging and environmental innovation? Join our dynamic Sustainability Execution Finance team at Amazon.

As a Sustainability Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across Amazon's operations. You will work closely with our sustainability teams to provide insightful financial analysis, budgeting, and controllership support that enables us to tackle environmental challenges and deliver impactful sustainability solutions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, strongly motivated, and hands-on Finance Professional with a keen interest in sustainability practices and environmental accounting.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leverage your solid financial expertise and sustainability acumen to independently build robust financial models and analyses for green initiatives, drawing insightful conclusions and making recommendations that drive tangible environmental and operational improvements.

  • Oversee the development and continuous innovation of sustainability-focused financial reviews, forecasting, and reporting models, effectively communicating findings to finance and sustainability partners.

  • Identify and resolve complex data integrity issues related to sustainability metrics, collaborating closely with stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of environmental data quality.

  • Proactively recognize the need for enhanced controls to address sustainability risks and compliance with environmental regulations, and propose innovative control solutions.

  • Develop a deep understanding of how sustainability data flows through our financial platforms, know the right data to use for analysis, and establish a source of truth for environmental metrics.

  • Streamline and centralize process improvement and reporting initiatives for sustainability projects to empower business partners and customers to make timely, data-driven decisions that support our environmental goals.

  • Provide hands-on support for sustainability-related financial closures, audits, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.

A day in the life

The Sustainability and Sustainable Packaging Finance team engages in a variety of daily activities to support Amazon's environmental initiatives. These include analyzing financial data related to packaging and sustainability projects, developing and updating cost models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess the financial impact of green initiatives. Team members regularly prepare reports on key performance indicators, validate cost savings from sustainability projects, and contribute to budget planning processes. They also monitor compliance with environmental regulations, participate in project review meetings, and provide financial guidance to sustainability teams. The team continually works on optimizing financial processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring the economic viability of Amazon's sustainability efforts across European operations.

About the team

The Sustainability and Sustainable Packaging Finance team at Amazon supports key environmental initiatives across European operations. This dynamic group blends financial expertise with sustainability knowledge to drive cost-effective green solutions in areas such as packaging, carbon reduction, and waste management.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree

  • Relevant experience in a finance role leading a project or programme and partnering with multiple stakeholders within a business

  • Relevant experience working with Excel, reporting tools and large-scale data mining tools, such as Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau

  • Relevant experience in financial modelling

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, Mathematics, or Economics

  • Experience troubleshooting problems and offering solutions to streamline complex challenges

  • Experience of working in a large team or fast-paced, corporate environment

  • Experience of making strategic business decisions and manage internal relationships
