This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.

Key job responsibilities

I. Provide Financial commentary, variance explanations, business insights and risk & opportunities assessments for new and existing business mechanisms.

II. Partner with the FOOA and Profit Intelligence teams to ensure data integrity, accuracy and on-time reporting.

III. Lead True Business Cost mechanism in order to achieve a higher degree of controllership of our financials and the areas that are directly actionable from a business perspective.

IV. Enable more granular understanding on specific key P&L lines by working with SMEs (e.g., unpack GL Mix, Net PPM,)

VI. Partner with the business finance team to develop new slices of the P&L (e.g., Planned Spend P&L, Brutus P&L, etc.) with a view to highlight opportunities and areas that are actionable from a business perspective.

VII. Track and understand broader Amazon changes on accounting that have implication on the AB reporting

VIII. Create best practice documentation explaining allocation drivers and AB specific user cases. Facilitate training and sharing.

IX. Contribute and influence the next generation of the P&L Reporting & Performance Management in partnership with the Fintech Product Manager.

X. Works closely with various stakeholders spread across multiple locations and teams within AB (CPS, SSR, FOAA) and outside AB (Corporate FP&A, Stores Finance, etc).

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field

  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

  • Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan

  • Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
